Born April 13, 1947

Passed away on November 16, 2019

GEORGEANNE MARIE WEAVER (nee Stanley) passed away peacefully late in the evening on Friday, November 2019.

Born on April 13, 1947 to George and Margaret Stanley, she was the older sister to Dennis.
Georgeanne was predeceased by her adoring husband Michael Weaver, Sr., her parents George and Margaret Stanley, and her Brother Dennis Stanley.
She is survived by her sons Dennis (Colleen) Weaver and Michael (Andrea) Weaver Jr, Grandchildren Chad, Zoe, Jobe, Max, Rhiannon, Cassidy and Joe, and several cousins, nephews and nieces.

Georgeanne, or Jan as most knew her, was born and raised in Philadelphia. She spent her summers at the Jersey Shore, where she met the love of her life and husband of nearly 50 years, Michael Weaver, Sr.

Together they lived in several South Jersey towns, with stops in Arkansas and Florida. They settled finally in Mantua, where they raised their children. The Weaver home was typically filled with many friends of both Jan & Mike as well as the children. Jan enjoyed baking, playing board games and spending quiet evenings with her husband. If there was a good Western or an episode of The Golden Girls on TV, you can be sure that Jan & Mike were watching. Jan loved most holidays, and her home seemed to be elaborately decorated for almost any occasion.

Jan worked for several local companies, most significantly as Office Manager in Woodbury, NJ. Her career kept her busy, but she still always made sure that dinners were prepared, homework was completed and clothes were ready for her family.

Jan had several close friends, with many of her friendships lasting decades. She was a strong, intelligent woman who spoke her mind…some might even call her ‘feisty’. She was a passionate lover of animals, and her house was always home to a few rescued or adopted dogs and cats. She donated frequently to organizations that protected animals, and went out of her way to make sure that local hummingbirds always had a full feeder in her yard. This ‘Philly Girl’ certainly had a deep love of nature and wildlife.

Jan would speak often and lovingly about her grandchildren, to practically anyone who would listen. The abundance of photographs and children’s artwork throughout her home made it crystal clear that she adored her grandkids.

Jan will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. She was a vibrant woman who truly considered herself blessed to be loved by many. She will be deeply missed by her family, neighbors and many friends.

Those that knew Jan are invited to celebrate her life at Fertig Funeral Home at 63 North Main Street in Mullica Hill, NJ 08062 on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, with a service to follow.
