Georgia Irene (Castle) Weems, 87, returned home to the Lord on July 19,2017 at Life Care Center of Punta Gorda. Georgia was a women beloved by all. She was always joyful and constantly made everyone smile. She had a love for anything crafty or artistic and was always working on something. She would write poems, paint pictures, and even designed her own clothes! Georgia had a real passion for fashion and never met a hat or handbag she didn't like. One of her favorite pastimes was playing the piano or keyboard and singing. Everyone would always stop what they were doing to listen to her play. Georgia made sure to pass on her love for God to her family and everyone she met, including over 100 Bible Correspondence Students. She even turned the Bible into a book of poems and self published and distributed it to churches all over. Georgia's family includes her three children, Carol (Weems) Darling of Winter Park, FL, Vickie (Weems) Lyon of Punta Gorda, FL, and Thomas Weems, Jr of Clearwater, FL, five grand children, and three great grandchildren. She has now joined her husband TL Weems, Sr in Heaven. They would have been married 51 years. Kays Ponger is handling arrangements. A private service will be held for the family. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238.
