Hey Dad,
Things haven't been the same since You left Us. There has been a bunch of BS with the Family, and We lost Grandpop as Well. But i still hold true the Values that You taught me. im working a Corporate Gig now, and im doing my Best to "Love in Spite of" but its Hard. You Truly were the Glue that held Everything & Everyone Together. i Will Always be Thankful for Your Acceptance, & I take the Lessons You gave me to Heart, and with all this crazyness i would trade anything to have another moment just to seek Your Guidance. i Love You & i Miss You More than Words Could Ever Say. Happy Heavenly Birthday Dad.

It's been two years and so much has happened. Your light shines us through all those who failed you and us after your passing. You predicted it but not how bad. Your wisdom, love and kindness continues through us. We will continue on with you in our hearts. Our family is smaller, our friends are fewer but the unity and passion is stronger under the power of God. His grace is sufficient. No weapon formed against us has or will prosper. We love you and miss you until we meet up with you in heaven. ❤️

65 today, Happy Heavenly Birthday! You are as close to my heart today as you were the day our eyes met. My love for you never fades and will never die. I miss you but would never want less than God's perfection for you and for now it's with Him. I will meet you there later. I just want you to know how much in love with you I am. Your friends came to honor you, I fed them and we got to talk. God gave us a beautiful drama free day. You are truly one of a kind Gerry, I'm so grateful you are mine.

I met Gerry over 35 years ago at CCBSS and he was such a great coworker and friend. He was active in the community and church, he was such a caring person and he will forever be remembered by me and my family. My sincere condolences and prayers go out to his wife and family. He was a friend that the Bible says, “a friend who sticks closer than a brother” Proverbs 18:24. Gerry will be missed. Rest well my friend until we meet again with our Lord.

Gerry I loved you from the beginning, I love you now and will love you forever. I always told you, you are the only man who will be in my life. All I ever wanted was you, I still do and thank God for our 30 yrs. Fairy tales do come true. They did when I met and married you. See you later.

I had the pleasure of meeting Gerry 5 years ago when I started working at the Linc. His locker was below mine. We would chat before each event as he waited patiently for me to get out of the way. He was a great guy who will be truly missed. My condolences to his family.

We grew up crosstown and we all knew we were the bomb! Some cool, mischevious well dressed brothers who knew the deal. Jr. Herd Elks drill team, parades, travel all over jersey, St.Barts Church yard hang out, whittier School, Hatch Jr. High, and then Gerry led me to save my educational career. He told me of his experience at Camden County Vocational and Technical School. I was a year behind him and desperately needed a school to regain interest in education. It was a reawakening for me. Then he told me about financial aid and Glassboro State College he was attending. I signed up and never looked back. Got degrees and been working in higher ed ever since. Gerry was my brother, my friend, my mentor and my sparring partner when I was 19 and preparing to win a fight I was unaware that I would have. Good looking out bro..lol. We had so many great experiences over our times together that I could write for days. Gerry was a cool very smart and gentle brother with a loving heart and a super positive attitude. His brothers Terry and Rafik were my brothers too and little Darryl who also left Camden and made a good life elsewhere as did I. Last year I was in town and stopped by the house. His mom and dad came by looking good while I was there.
I was so happy to see him prosper over the years with his immediate family and his wife and all the blessing of children they raised. Baleeia and all the family God Bless and stay strong. I will keep you in my prayers and always in my heart. Much love to you all. Vern....Gerry's other little brother.

Devoted son and husband, loving father, supportive friend, caregiver of his community, faithful servant of God.
I met Gerry 21 years ago when hired at the Welfare Board 3 months after discharging from the Air Force. Gerry stood out of all people with his charisma, intelligence, positive attitude and big heart. He took me under his wing with job training, involving me in the Union, and showing me the ropes like to take 2pm lunch, catch the bus in front of the job on Broadway to Philly, hangout at the Gallery mall and Reading Terminal then return at 4:15pm to go home at 4:30pm!!! We would become peas in a pod and I affectionately called him Buttah Bean. I was always driving him somewhere. Gerry was not only my good buddy but was like my dad, uncle, brother, and crazy cousin. He was also a mentor and role model to my children. Gerry gave everything and asked for nothing. As hard as the reality of his death is for me, I am so thankful to God for his life and the blessing he was. Condolences to his wife and family. I wish you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories forever in your heart. Love has no boundries. He took all our love with him and the love he gave us will forever reflect in our lives. Farewell my friend.

Mr. Baker was a someone that I won't soon forget! He was too cool and always seemed observant of everything happening when he came on campus during our college days.

I especially appreciated both he and Mama Baker for their support literally near the midnight hour. I suffered a crazy injury after a late rehearsal days before a show and ended up in the emergency room. They drove to the hospital and stayed there with me so that Tinisha and Deb, too, could make sure I was alright. Tinisha and I tend to laugh about that night almost every year thanks to fb memories, but that was something that meant so much to me. When people show you love and they don't have to, that's sacrifice and it leaves a mark. I could never repay y'all for that. It might seem insignificant, but I was blessed that night. Mr. Baker, thank you for the man that you were and the legacy you leave behind with your family. May God be forever pleased. Take rest.
