Memories of my Uncle and Godfather will remain with me forever. The last few years were most memorable. I'm sure you had a great entrance into heaven. Parents, siblings and son were no doubt there to greet you. Hug each and everyone of them for me. Give an extra hug to my Dad! You will be missed but till we meet again, I Love You ❣

January 6, 2019

Jerry Boyers, 87, of Liberty Twp, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 27, 2018 at Hospice of Cincinnati.

Mr. Boyers was born January 24, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio to Stanley and Martha Bojarski-Boyers.  Jerry loved his family dearly and was an avid fisherman and wonderful story teller!  He was always searching for the next adventure to go on or planning the next trip he wanted to take.  He enjoyed playing cards with his buddies at the Senior Center and shopping for bargains.  Jerry was an employee of Tiedtke's department store, in Toledo, for 22 years where he held various job titles, including operations manager.  He then served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951-1953 becoming a Sergeant during the Korean War.  When Jerry returned from the war, he married Betsey, and they had four children.  They then moved to Cincinnati, where he was employed by Weight Watchers and made a career transition into selling real estate, which he did for 22 years.  Jerry then retired from real estate to work part time at Meijer for 10 years.  He and Betsey enjoyed their retirement traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Boyers is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth (Betsey)-nee Bryan-Boyers.  Daughters: Susan (Gary) Ruscher, Tracy (Bob) Witzman, and Holly Parker.  Grandchildren: Tamara (Randy) Huss, Andrew (Holly) Ruscher, Mike Avery-Ruscher, Jacklyn Parker, Katie Ruscher, Matthew Witzman, and Kyle Witzman. Great Grandchildren: Aiden and Jameson Huss. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Martha Bojarski-Boyers; his brother, Stanley Boyers; his sister, Barbara Lyman; and his son, Scott Boyers.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 19th at the American Legion 401 Reading Rd, Mason, OH 45040 from 12:00 - 3:00. Service will start with the Honor Guard at 12:30.

There is a group of 5 of us girls, and we do a lot together.  We go out once a week for sure and sometimes we will throw in an additional day at the last minute. We all laugh, cry and share everything. For the past few years I am the only one that has a Mom, and my friend Susan S. and I have a Dad. My parents would go out with us occasionally, and we had fun.  My parents never wanted to miss out on a liquor pitcher with us girls at the Draft or a pizza at Liberty Inn. They call my Mom and Dad, Mom and Dad!! Usually we would all end up laughing all night. It has been nice to see my Dad get out right up to the end!  I want to share a pic of my Dad and us girls because we all loved him! Actually this pic is from when he was in the Rehab Center and the Girls brought him beer and pizza!!! He was thrilled.
