Mr. Whaley was born in Roanoke, Alabama on Saturday, September 15, 1945, the son of the late Cordie Brown Whaley and Reed Dobson.  He attended school in Roanoke and was a foreman with the City of Lanett with 30 years of service.  Mr. Whaley loved his family was loved by them.  He enjoyed working with wood, riding motorcycles and going fishing.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn R. Whaley of Lanett; his daughters, Penny (Dewey) Hood of Lanett and Cathy Whaley-Steele of Valley, Alabama; his son Charlie Michael Whaley of Albertsville, Alabama; his grandchildren, Rebecca Butler and Nicole (Chris) Brooks;  his great grandchildren, Ryder Brooks and Jordan Brooks.
