Gertrude Louise Jones Green, 89, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Saturday, March 9th 2013 at Universal Healthcare in Oxford.
A native of Person County, the widow of Harold Lee Green and the daughter of the late William Bradshaw and Janet Moore Jones. She was a member of West Oxford Baptist Church, a retired healthcare technician at John Umstead Hospital and owner-operator of H & L Mobile Home Court in Providence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, March 11, 2013 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev Wes Garner Jr. Burial will be in Granville Memorial Gardens in Oxford.
Surviving are a daughter, Dianne Green Wells and husband Dr. Michael E. Wells of Stem, four grandsons, six great grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson John Turner.
Flowers accepted or memorials can be made to West Oxford Baptist Church, P.O. Box 458, Oxford, NC 27565.
Active pallbearers will be Travis Wells, Ernie Jones, Darnell Carver, Keith Huff, Randy Green and Brin Wilkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Green, Cecil Green, Bobby Huff and Robert Cox.
Visitation will be from 12:30-1:45 PM prior to the service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home of Mrs. Green’s in Providence.
Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford is assisting the Green Family.

My my how time flies, 7 yrs since you left us. But that hasn't stopped me from missing you. Never go to Oxford or hear the word Providence with out thinking of you. I know you ,Ernestine, Elsie and Penny are still catching up with all the news. I miss all of you so much just isn't the same without you all. Know that I love all of you. May you all RIP.

Today would have been your birthday so "Happy Birthday" in Heaven! It has been a little over 4 years since you passed away and we still miss you so much! We go by your house and it sure doesn't look like it did when you lived there! I miss seeing that Hibiscus plant on the corner. It was always so beautiful ! I know you are happy in Heaven with all your loved ones and even though you are missed, we will see you again one day in Heaven!!

Well Gertrude, it has been 3 years since you passed away! Every time we go by your house we look that way and we can see you out under the carport or messing with your Hibiscus plant! It was always so beautiful! We miss you a lot and we loved you so much! But we will see you again one day!

Happy Birthday in Heaven Gertrude!! We sure do miss you here and every time we go by your house we look that way, just a habit we always had because we expected to see if you in the yard! We loved you more than you will ever know! We will see you again 1 day in Heaven! Dianne, we are very sad tonight about Gertrude's death but also rejoice in the fact she is no longer sick or in pain. She loved you very much and you took excellent care of her. You were her pride and joy!! She was a good friend to us and we loved her very much!!! We will surely miss her but have some great memories and good times spent with her!!! We love you and are praying for you!
