Gideon Ostrea Mabale was born on December 18, 1940 in Balaoan, La Union, Philippines from his late parents Cresencio Mabale Sr. and Lourdes Mabale Saldivar. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines in 1964. He married Zenaida Gonzales on March 12, 1971. He immigrated to the United States in June, 1971 and Zenaida followed in October, 1971. He resided in California from Santa Paula, Los Angeles, Montebello, to West Covina.
He worked for Parsons, William Perira, a world known architect and planner and a few more architecture firms He also was involved with some innovative projects with Disneyland and Disneyworld and was a subcontractor for designing several high-rise buildings in Los Angeles. He had made some significant contributions to the entertainment industry and to Los Angeles. One of his architectural highlights in the 1990’s was being part of the architectural project team with Metro (Rail Construction Corporation Metropolitan Transportation Authority) with the development of the 400 mile transit system in Los Angeles County as an architect designer. He worked until the age of 62. After his retirement, he continued his hobby with photography. He loved taking pictures of his family and friends. He loved to travel with Zenaida and his brothers and sisters. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at parties and gatherings.
Gideon Ostrea Mabale was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife Zenaida, his two children, their spouses and children: Melvin and his wife Eileen, Nathin (24), Joshua (23), Xander(18), and Maliah (15); Maribel and husband Cristian, Tyler (24), and Avery (21).
