Her Life
November 24, 2014

Mrs. Stutts was born on June 7, 1963; the daughter of Patricia Ann McWater Gentry and William Asbury “Billy” Gentry. When she was just a tyke her maternal grandmother, Theo McWater, started presenting the love for music to all her grandchildren. From a very early age Ginger showed a remarkable musical gift; so much so that she became the church pianist at Welcome United Methodist Church at fifteen years old and served there for thirty years. She also was a part of the Gentry Quartet, comprised of Ginger and her brothers and sister. She was well known as one of the most sought after pianist for the Georgia Singing Convention. Not only did she love music but had a great desire to serve others and showed this through her love, compassion, and concern for each student that she taught at Centralhatchee Elementary School. Each child she taught will carry with them the knowledge and joy of learning that she shared with each one throughout their lives. She was well respected by her peers, so much so that she was selected by her fellow faculty members to be the Teacher of the Year on two different occasions. One could not describe Ginger without mentioning the constant smile that was ever present on her beautiful face! Her presence, even in ill health could light up a room and certainly brighten the spirit of all she came in contact with! The two most important aspects of her life were her God, which she worshiped and praised to the very end; and the love and delight of her family! Serving her last musical post as church pianist at Glenloch Baptist Church during her illness was a tribute to her love of her God and her desire to serve Him. Her family, ever constant on her mind, was the great delight of her life! It was her desire to see her youngest child Katherine graduate from high school, and witness the marriage of her oldest daughter to the love of her life, Jeremy Gilbert. God honored both of these requests. The love of her on life, Tommy Stutts, to whom she was married for almost twenty-five years, is quick to give her all the credit for the success of their marriage. She was a credit to her loving mother and father, Patricia and Billy Gentry. This very precious woman touched the lives of many. She considered herself blessed to be surrounded by so much love during her lifetime. Her life will not be forgotten, but remembered for the great joy that she gave to each of us who knew her!

She is survived by her husband, Tommy Stutts of Franklin, GA.; two daughters, Elizabeth Gilbert (Jeremy) of Roswell, Ga., Katy Stutts of Franklin, Ga.; parents, Billy and Patricia Gentry of Franklin, GA.; one brother, Johnny Gentry (Alexa) of Roopville, Ga.; one sister, Gayle Gentry of Franklin, GA.; sister-in-law Leesa Stutts Cothran (Bobby) also of Franklin, GA.; and adored nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one beloved brother, Alan Gentry; grandparents, J. W. and Bernice Gentry, and Harvey Lee and Theo Mc Waters; and mother-in-law, Esther Stutts.
