Her Life

Gladys Elaine Kinney (Lauver)

March 18, 2021
Gladys was born June 7th, 1944 to Harold and Eva Kinney. She grew up in Commerce City, Colorado and Wisconsin. She graduated high school from Adams City High School in Commerce City where her father built several houses in the area and owned and operated a greenhouse during her childhood. She had and is survived by two brothers, Larry and Ron. Shortly after high school she got a job as a secretary with the IRS of the Federal government.  I believe that to be her only job for just over thirty years. She retired and had over twenty years in retirement. In 1967, she had her only child, Scott with her then husband Robert Herring. Robert had another son, Robin and Gladys treated his family and kids, Anna and Robbie  like her own. They divorced in 1979 and Gladys was a single mother for almost ten years. She then met Gary Lauver and they married and spent over thirty years together.
Gladys was a very caring person. She always enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends. She would coordinate lunches with people she worked with and kept up on their lives. She would bring me downtown and to work gatherings and I got to know her friends and co-workers. She loved and enjoyed her two granddaughters, Jessica and Alyssa.
It would be great if everyone would add their thoughts and memories and photos of my mom to this site. It will be here forever. It will be something myself or anyone can go to when they are thinking of her.
