Gladys “Sister” Morris Smith, 72, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at her home.
A native of Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Roney Buck Morris and Myrtle Bowling Morris. She was a member of Tabbs Creek Baptist Church and was a retired medical technician at Murdoch Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 30, 2018 in the Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Stan Jenkins. Burial will be in Stovall Memorial Cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Pam Smith Long (Mike) of Franklinton; a son, Tony Smith (Tina) of Oxford; three sisters, Marie Bowes of Roxboro, Polly Deal and Elaine Bentley both of Oxford; a brother, Joe Morris of Henderson; four grandchildren, Jessica, Daniel, Brittney and Becca and sister-in-law, Ann Loftis and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Smith; sister, Judy Mae Morris; and brothers, Melvin, Roy, Roney, Jr., and J.C Morris.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 12:00 – 1:45 Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home.
