Biggest Smile
My old roommate
I had the honor of rooming with the big man for 6 months touring with the Afterglow band back in '91. Glenn was by far the smoothest musician I have ever worked with, and he taught me a lot. I will never forget his magical laugh, those stupid silly faces he used to make, and the way he would say, "Ain't dat some sh*t!"
I very much regret not looking him up back in '05 when I relocated to Fairfax. I meant to but kept putting it off. Hang easy my friend, I hope we can jam again some day.
Take a lesson y'all. If there's something you need to do or someone you need to see, do it today.

Glenn you are right here beside us everyday. Man you have not gone nowhere. Only that old body that has no use anymore has turned back into some fierce and wonderful new something.
You sit & joke and tell me all the places and sites you have seen. I still feel like you are so close by. Stay right here..It's ok, I can think about you like this if I choose.
SMILES TO YOU! :-)
My Jokes Were spoke only with LOVE.
Glenn could make anyone LAUGH OUT LOUD!
Laughter has something in it common with the ancient words of faith and inspiration; it unfreezes pride and unwinds secrecy; it makes people forget themselves in the presence of something greater than themselves▼
G.K. Chesterton

LOVIN MUSIC, LOVIN LIFE..
Glenn was a Lover of Music, it "soothes the savage beast"..Glenn you sure knew what GOD sent you here to do, and you did it well.
Not too many people get to follow thier dreams and do exactly what they desire & Love. You made playing your Bass a lucrative business to sustain you & your family but you had such FUN doing it, so it seemed like play.

Creating this wonderful program has been so helpful in my grieving process. My brother Glenn was cremated, he is not in a place I can go sit to visit him. This is the only place I feel I can connect with him. Grieving is a hard process, and this site helps to make it much easier. Honestly, without this memorial program, I don't know how I could have dealt with the loss of my brother. I was his first born sister and we talked every single day, sometimes 5 to 10 times. We never kept count, it was just what we did..right up until his last night here in this fleshy world. When he was called home by our Heavenly Father I know my world changed but I found peace in knowing he is my newly given angel sent to be transformed to watch over me and my family until we all transition into those pearly gates.
***Missing you Glenn but I am feeling so at peace in knowing you too are watching over your loved ones as those gone before you..MOM & DAD. I am sure your spirit keeps & protects us as we move through this life here on earth.
LOVE YOU & MISS YOU!

Glenn On Bass
Over Glenn's Life you would hardly ever..not find him holding a beautiful guitar. He so had a love for music and playing the Bass was his constant joy. He made people laugh, sing, dance and have fun all the while he was doing the same. He could make up beats and songs in his head as quick as you could count. Alway's playing music and showing his dedication is about the way he spent his days. He loved people and enjoyed life through music. I can hear him now..Playing that Bass in a funky and upbeat jazzy tune. In this particular photo, he may have been playing with one of his bands, "WILDFLOWER" or maybe even "LET IT FLOW". He was often found playing Gigs as he would say.."Ain't Nothin Just Havin A Good Time". Yes..Glenn could join up with others playing thier craft and just Bless the audiences somewhere around the globe. I feel he may be playing a song he wrote and produced..I love this one. called "Am I A Fool To Still Love You". R.I.Paradise my Brother Glenn, you did this thing called LIFE so darn well!
A Song In The Key of Life.."Obituary"
Obituary: A Song in the Key of Life Mr. Glenn Morris Ellis was born on November 2, 1956 as the first child to the late William Ellis and the late Sarah Jane Sanders in Washing- ton, DC. He passed away at the age of 57 years old at Southern Mary- land Hospital on Saturday, December 21, 2013. Glenn received his education in Washington, DC graduating from H.D. Woodson Sr. High School. He continued his education at the Univer- sity of the District of Columbia studying music theory. Glenn dedicated his life to Jesus Christ at the early age of twelve years old at Antioch Baptist Church in Washington, DC. He attended church regularly throughout his childhood and contributed faithfully to the ministry through the music ensemble. Glenn fell in love with music at the age of ten years old and started playing with his uncle Jonah Ellis and his band, “The Whale.” After playing with a variety of bands and musicians in the Washington, DC area, he became the resident guitarist for Al “Man” Muncie. Shortly after, he joined Phil Flowers and toured Canada. One of his first studio recordings that received airplay on local radio stations was “Dancin’ All Night” with the band, Master Jam released in 1982. He was best known as the longtime pioneering bassist for Chuck Brown, joining the band in 1979. He helped set the pace and tone for the bottom to Chuck's beat around the world and on some of Chuck's most influential recordings including “Go Go Swing”, “Back It On Up”, “We Need Some Money”, “Your Game” and countless others. When Brown took a break from perform- ing in part of 1982 and 1983, Glenn formed a band called Slug-go. Together, the band recorded top charting hit, “Crazy” released in 1985. Over the course of Glenn’s illustrious career, he produced, wrote, and was a featured bassist for various artists including SWV, Salt-n-Pepa, Force MD’s, Chaka Khan, Eric Benet, Grace Jones, Natalie Cole, Brook- lyn Funk Essentials and many more.
