Gloria (Tettemer) Smith of Bensalem died on Saturday evening, June 4, 2011, at Lower Bucks Hospital. She was 89.

She was a lifelong residence of Bensalem.

Gloria enjoyed reading, swimming, boating and going to the Delaware River at Echo Beach. She was also a lover of cats.

Mrs. Smith was a direct descendent of John Honeyman, who was a spy for Gen. George Washington during the Revolutionary War, and aided with information for Washington crossing the Delaware River on Christmas Eve at Trenton.

Mrs. Smith is survived by five children: Sylvia D. Nerl (Dan), Brenton F. Smith (Judy), Shawn H. Smith (Beverlee), Ross Smith and Tara Bryn Smith; four grandchildren: Renee C. Banks (Ken), Shawn H. Smith Jr., Kristin Lee Smith and Christopher M. Craft (Liz). She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Kevyn Sills, Kenny Banks, Aislyn and Loralei Craft.

Gloria was preceded in death by her mother and father Ethelyn (nee Honeyman) and Burton Tettemer, and her husband of 43 years, Frank Smith and her brother, Norman, and sister, Joy.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday from 10 to 12 Noon at Tomlinson Funeral Home, P.C., 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, followed by Services at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery.

 A memorial luncheon will follow interment.
