Family and friends are invited to a memorial service for Gloria at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, in Graham, Texas, at the Morrison Funeral Home.

In heaven Gloria will join her beloved parents, Coleman and Ruby Sams Moorhouse. The Moorhouse family lived in Benjamin, Texas, until Gloria was six years old, when they moved to a ranch in Rankin, Texas. In 1938 her family bought a ranch in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, which started LoLo's love affair with that beautiful state, which she always considered a special home.

She graduated from the Radford School in El Paso, Texas, and attended the University of New Mexico, where she was a proud member of Pi Beta Phi national sorority.

Some of the best years of Gloria's life were spent at her Santa Rosa ranch, where the family ran a horse and cattle operation and where she raised three handsome sons: Coley, Ron and Sam.

Gloria had a unique appreciation and understanding of New Mexico and the Southwest, especially its art, clothes and jewelry. She loved paint horses, beautiful flowers, Hershey's chocolate, Coca Cola, going to movies, playing cards and dancing to classic country music. She was always ready to go, and loved others who would go with her. Even up to the last few months of her life she was planning road trips to visit friends and family.

She loved to cook and loved it when others cooked for her, especially if it involved beef or a favorite New Mexico dish such as red enchaladas. She made the best queso - with bacon! Other favorites that LoLo loved to cook and eat were pimento cheese, congealed salad, Club crackers, fresh strawberries, and roast beef with potatoes and carrots.

Later in her life, Gloria lived in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico, two cities she always loved. She fought and won a battle with breast cancer, and during that time moved to Graham, Texas, to be near her son Ron and his wife Karen, who cared for her with great love in her later years.

She loved her friends and neighbors in Graham, especially those who shared the Royal Oaks apartment complex and, in particular, their swimming pool.

LoLo treasured her family and friends dearly, and enjoyed keeping up with them and hearing stories about their lives. Her love and travel and flying took her to many places around the United States - often in her own airplances - and also to Europe, Bali, and to the islands of Guam and Oahu, Hawaii.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, and attended First Baptist Church in Graham, Texas.

Surviving Gloria are her three sons and their families:

* Coley and his wife Sherry of New Braunfels, Texas.

I first met Gloria in Santa Rosa when I was just married. She and I hit it off and became friends---she sort of took me under her wing! She would just show up at my house & sit & visit--a real comfort for me during some hard times! We both attended the Methodist Church there, so we had that connection also! I am forever grateful for her special friendship!!! Love, Toots
