Uncle u will always be missed, i will always treasure the time i spent with u in ma life, ur advise, ur luv, ur care en all u did in ma life am greatfull en u made me who i am today en wat i am ryt now. I learnt alot from u uncle, u were a blessing in my life I thank God for that opportunity. May ur soul rest in peace we meet in heaven.

Uncle Godfrey my dear u left us so soon, your death was a complete blow to not only me but every one, we were not expecting it,it seems like a dream, i keep remembering all those sartudays i spent with you in the hospital. All my life i had never been at ease with any uncle,the way i was with you, uncle Godfrey you brought out the best in me, you inspired me in many ways. I rememeber you took me to my first job interview and my second, and always waited for me until i was done, you invested alot of time in me uncle, and i promise all that time wont go to  waste, i belive i am and will always be a better person becouse of you. All the great memories will be cherished, like the cooking lessons, "yes my uncle was a great cook", the trip to the grocery stores, the farmers market, and the small talks we always had when we were watching jeoprady and wheel of fortune. I will miss coming from school and not finding you home, the house is empty without you. You made me a politician, and i remember that smile on your face when i tried to talk to you about politics. Uncle you made my life in America so easy,i have always got every thing in big packages because of you. All most every one had a taste your big heart plus your good sense of humor. You were an incredibly talented person in every thing you you did, i never saw you fail in any thing. Uncle, i know you in a better place, busy watching over us, although you have left a big spcae in all out lives and hearts, a part of you will always remain with me and every one. Auntie Barbara will never be alone dear, we will always have her back and take care of her the way you did to us, we shall never fail her, just like you never failed us.

couldnt just belive wen i got the bad news the only thing i remember abt uncle was wen i got miss understandings with hajji he called me and lectured me for 3hrs on fone he was one of the first pple to confort me and for sure his lecture and advise ment alot to my life cos he tried 2 bring back my senses uncle amongest all pple i cant stand lossing u may ure soul rest in internal peace

MATOVU HAKIM 

My brother passed away 4 days ago, and I haven't come to reality with it until now. It's still like a dream. It didn't seem real. Now I know that when someone passes away, there isn't any  word long enough or big enough to describe it. I could talk about it, and I could go on for pages, but even an entire book can't replace an entire life. I love you, Godfrey, and will always think of you, for better or for worse. You are a great inspiration that happened and there are still lots of memories to visit.  It is still hard to understand. The whole concept takes getting used to, or getting familiar with.

He has achieved  a lot for such a young age. At 50, he was the youngest to have ever won hearts of many. Still, at 50 he was a darling to many friends, his life was taken away just like that. The whole family will miss you, Godfrey.

The cornerstone of a great marriage is friendship. Godfrey was  blessed to be married to his best friend. He once told me that, had it not been Barbara, I wouldn't  be living. Barbara, you are such a blessing, a wonderful wife, words can't reward you in any way but God knows better what to reward you for having strangled to save Godfrey's life up to 18th  day of December 2012. You did so singlehandedly. May the Almighty richly bless you Barbara

In the rhythm of Life we sometimes find ourselves out of tune but as long as there people like you Barbara to provide the melody music shall always play on. You did provide melody into Godfrey's life up his last day.

Godfrey has been a friend for a long time. I worked with him at Marrakesh restaurant and we always waited for his arrival because he would tell us stories concerning Kampala city life, business and so many other things.

Always full of life and never short of words especially politics. We would argue for hours and always looked forward to a debate

This is tragic beyond imagination. Godfrey was like a father, brother and friend combined. I have run to Godfrey with all my issues and he would show me wisdom. I know he is in a better place. I remember years ago when I first came the US and Godfrey was taking time to get me started. It is very few people in life we are going to meet that have ½% of Godfrey’s heart. I hope you all had the chance to experience Godfrey’s heart.

Godfrey has been an uncle to so many and without a biological connection just because of his attitude towards us. Expressed care and concern for the community despite the physical issues that have been there from day to day! Godfrey loved Barbara unconditionally and was always ready to support her as a friend and wife in all aspects of life. No wonder God kept him around all this time despite the pain but to finish what he had to do. Lord, God the Almighty, please allow Godfrey to enter you kingdom of eternal life in Jesus’ name Amen.

The foot-steps I enjoy are the foot-steps of love and joy. The wonders of love exhibihited in sweet conversations. The conversations with no lack, speeches without "stones", the foot-steps of a friend. Down the road as we talk and as we laugh, memories of our homeland. The gap between Canada and Atlantic coasts so narrowed by love and memories. As we laughed and so were the benefits of wisdom.
