Gordon’s Compass for Living

Provo, Utah 1951

“The only absolute or true values in life are those which are eternal.”

“Every minute has a plus or minus effect on an individual’s success.”

“Let us walk by the sure Word of God and not after our own judgment.”

“We should make a plan for the obtaining of things that will enrich our lives.”

A Mother's Tale

June 8, 2011

Gordon’s Mother told him the following incident. The Jensen’s had a Model-T Ford Sedan with long hubcaps on the axles. When they were out for a drive, a passing car came too close and the hubcaps of the two cars interlocked and the Jensen car was thrown to one side and rolled over. Fortunately no one was injured and the car was turned right side up, but Gordon turned up missing. His parents could hear him crying, but couldn’t find him. The cries seemed to come from the back seat, but they couldn’t see him. They took out the back seat and there Gordon was in a toolbox under the seat. As the car rolled over, the seat had come up and he had slipped into the toolbox and then the seat had dropped back into place.
