Gregory G. Dobrenchuk, Jr.

Greg was born in Beverly, Massachusetts, March 18th 1951, to Emily Wright Dobrenchuk and Gregory George Dobrenchuk.

He spent his youth in Wenham, Massachusetts.  He was always a natural athlete, and in High School he was selected to attend Massachusetts Boys' State, based on his outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments.  He was proud to have been a member of the 1967 Hamilton-Wenham "Generals" football team, who had an undefeated season and were the Cape Ann League champions for the first time ever.

Greg loved the outdoors, and graduated from the University of New Hampshire (where he was also on the UNH "Wildcats" football team), with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry.  After college, Greg worked throughout the Pacific Northwest in the logging industry for Evergreen International, Inc.

Greg was also an avid golfer and a talented baseball player, and at one point he tried out for the Pittsburgh Pirates MLB franchise.

After several years, Greg returned to the Wenham area, where he went into the carpentry business.  Greg was devastated by the tragic and criminal death of our Mother, and after our Father was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, Greg became his full-time caregiver.

In 2004, Greg moved to the Pensacola, Florida area, where he continued in the carpentry business, as a professional trim and finish carpenter, as well as other endeavors.  He felt blessed to be able to live right on the water, with his own private dock and beautiful views of Escambia Bay, just north of the Gulf of Mexico.

One of Greg's greatest joys in life was his music - he was an accomplished musician, who could have played professionally.  He loved to sit outside by the water, and play his guitar for hours.  He also gave guitar lessons, and was a member of several local bands over the years..  Music made him happy, and gave him peace...

He is survived by his sister Donna Noble of Hilton Head, SC; his sister Linda Wigglesworth of Danvers, MA; and his brother Dana Dobrenchuk of Navarre, FL; as well as 4 nieces and nephews, several cousins, and an Aunt and an Uncle.

A private service was held on December 28, 2010, at the Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola, FL.  A memorial service is being planned to be held at the Wenham Cemetary, in the spring or summer of 2011.  Greg will then be with our beloved parents.

His kindness, his integrity, his creativity, his humor, his good heart, his strength, and the sounds of his laughter and his music will be forever missed.
