Captain Greg Helem's Journey

Philanthropic initiatives have always been a cornerstone of Greg's personal passion. For over thirty-five years, Greg had been involved with many non-profit community-based organizations and activities.

Greg had a passion in visual art and was a marketing consultant in graphic design, filming presentation, documentaries production, and more, including a recent participation in mural art displays at the front entrance of Hillcrest Community Centre under direction of art leader Ann Pollock. This project has been entitled “in memory of Greg Helem”

Greg’s early years were at various jobs including at ICBC as a team leader.

Fun Fact – Greg kept active with Zoom art photo classes, Kondo-inspired decluttering, and minting NFT’s.

Greg was a devoted Christian. Rarely talked about but a true believer of Preach by Deed, not by Words.

In recent years, Greg had a growing passion to Promote Volunteerism. Greg believed if people did more volunteer work, then society would become more giving and the world would be a better and more peaceful place.

Director of C.A.R.E. Society
Greg had been involved with C.A.R.E. for nearly 30 years and developed programs designed to bring Seniors out of isolation with in-residence social events incorporating music and exercise.
