Her Life
September 26, 2011

Gregory Allison Serage left this life Wednesday, September 21, 2011.  She was born December 22, 1958 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia to her parents, Joseph Wylie Scott Jr. and Ann Fielding  Johnston Scott.  She was the oldest of three children. Gregory graduated from Stone Mountain High School and attended Georgia Southern University.  She married her sweetheart, Steven Douglas Serage, son of the late Douglas C. Serage and Nancy C. Ekstrom Serage, September 10, 1977 in Decatur, Georgia.  She is the mother of three sons, Brian Scott Serage, of Grove, OK, Matthew Carl Serage, of Grove, OK, Steven Nathaniel Serage, of Covington, GA  and one daughter-in law, Brian’s wife, Shawna Marie Bailey Serage.  Gregory is the proud grandmother of four grandsons, Patrick Shawn Serage, 13, Nathaniel Scott Serage, 9, Preston Scott Serage, 4, and Luke Joseph Serage, 19 mo. and one granddaughter, Laila Renee Serage, 6.

Gregory was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.  She was a homemaker, family was her priority.  Her children and grandchildren were precious to her and she served them selflessly.  In return she was loved and respected by all her family.

Gregory enjoyed gardening, crafts and home decorating. As a loyal friend, she often used those skills to help others in their homes.  Gregory never hesitated to offer a helping hand, especially to those that were downtrodden and less fortunate.

With a passion for southern rock, country music, sweet tea, the Georgia Bulldogs and the American flag, she was a true southern girl.  Possessing a desire to emulate the strength and spirit of the character Scarlet O’Hara, she never tired of watching “Gone With the Wind”, her favorite movie.

Gregory will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, she is survived by her parents, Joe and Ann Scott, of Cullowhee, North Carolina, her brother, Robert Arthur Scott, of Coco, FL and sister, Mary Lenora Andersen and her husband, Robert Andersen, of Gainesville, GA.
