His Life

Mr. Gregory Thomas Slaton, age 53 of Franklin, Georgia passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 on the banks of his favorite fishing hole in Coweta County, Georgia.

He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 12, 1961, the son of Mildred Fannie Mae Wallace Slaton and Thomas Newton Slaton. He was married to the love of his life Tammy Hardin Slaton for over twenty-five years. In the early years of his career he attended and obtained a Degree in Welding from the Griffin Technical College in Griffin, Georgia. He was employed by the Forman-ColdRoom Systems Refrigeration Company where he was well respected for his attention to detail and tremendous work ethic. There was no place that he felt more at peace than in the woods. Whether he was hunting or fishing he felt in tune with God when communing with nature. He also loved supporting his Georgia Bulldogs in any sport and watching NASCAR races on the TV. The most important thing in his life however, was his wife, children, and grandchildren. It was his number one goal in life to love and provide for them. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Slaton of Franklin, GA.; parents, Mildred and Tom Slaton of Christian City, GA.; two daughters, Samantha Whitley (Larry) of Franklin, GA., and Melissa Chambers (Kevin) of Villa Rica, GA.; one sister, Kathy Hoffman (Mark) of West Palm Beach, FL.; three grandchildren, Gaige Whitley of Franklin, GA., and Nathan and Addilyn Chambers of Villa Rica, GA.; niece, Molly Rose Hoffman of N.C.; and nephew, Michael Hoffman of Orlando, FL.
