Missing you

October 15, 2014

No story, just thinking of and missing you a lot Gregory

March 16, 2014
I have so many memories of growing up next door to you. Too many to share. Seems like you were just always there...you were like another brother. Countless nights playing flashlight tag; camping in the woods...from tents to the "Dirb hut"; bonfires; you challenging me to lift my brother's bar bell filled with all weights..and I did, so you felt it necessary to show my talent to Matt and all your friends...proving that I, at the time, could lift more than him; you asked me to join the football games in our backyards so I could kick for your team, because you said I kicked the best, though I think you were just being nice. As we grew older, we went our separate ways, yet you were always close by. We partied at the satellite bridge and salt mines...you were always telling me then, who I should and shouldn't date (haha). One of my favorite memories was you knocking on our front door, I answered and you stood there with your guitar, I immediately told you Matt wasn't home, you said, "I don't care, I want to play you a new song I learned" and you walked right in. You played 'Tuesday's Gone' and then asked how it sounded because you were practicing hard and hoped it was good. Of course it was. Then you asked what I wanted to hear, and before I could reply, you started to play your best version of 'Tears in Heaven', not too bad for a beginner. When I heard Rory play at your service, that day flooded back as if it were yesterday. Tears in Heaven was played almost anytime you had your guitar by the bonfire (even after it broke at one of our bonfires)...and you perfected it! Pennsylvania...haha...enough said. I will say, You owe me!! Your and Matt's laundry was ridiculous! I still can't understand why you and Matt insisted on a washer and dryer and then instead of washing clothes...you guys just bought new! 8 loads of jeans...REALLY?!?!?!?! Greg, when you came to visit me just days after I had Kaylee...you snatched her from my arms and told me me how beautiful she was and told me "job well done"...that my friend, I will never forget. I only wish you could have met my youngest, Briley. I also wish that I could tell you the same in person about your sweet Charlee Rae, who is beautiful beyond words..."job well done". Happy Birthday my friend, my 'other' brother. Miss you, Leeann

The First Boy in the Family!

March 15, 2014

The age of Gregory in this picture is about the age he was when I remember seeing him for the first time.  I remember Naomi and I were so excited to see the first boy cousin in the Mosher family.  We were in Grampa and Gramma's kitchen and Aunt Diana had Gregory in a high chair feeding him baby food.  We just stood there watching.  I have seen a picture of this day somewhere. Someone in the family took a picture of Gregory while his mom was feeding him that day.  Hope I or someone else can locate it.  We sure were excited about him.

Our Dumb Prank

March 15, 2014

I have a very funny memory of Gregory.  (Actually lots of funny memories!)  This one though took place at Uncle Greg and Aunt Diana's house.  Naomi and I were visiting a few weeks during the summer. I was around 10 or 11, so Gregory would have been about 8. It was Uncle Greg and Aunt Diana's anniversary and us kids wanted to do something for the occasion.  Samantha had the great idea of making her mom and dad lunch.  Later in the evening, Gregory had the great idea of pulling a prank on his parents (sounds like Gregory, doesn't it?).  Being my mischeivious self I went along with it even though my older sister told me not to.  Gregory snuck into his parents bedroom while his mom was getting ready for bed (think Uncle Greg was already asleep) and squirted shaving cream under his mom's pillow.  We thought this was hysterical.  We couldn't think of anything else to do so we decided to toilet paper the kitchen (again, I have to give Gregory credit for this idea).  We tied toilet paper to the refrigerator door handle and strung it across the room over on the shelves.  We didn't have anything to hold some of the ends of the toilet paper onto the kitchen shelves so Gregory and I found tomatoes in the refrigerator to act as paper weights.  About the time we finished our job, his mom heard us laughing and came out half asleep and asked what was going on and yelled at Gregory to get in bed (she was too nice to scold me).  The next morning Greg told his mom about the shaving cream under her pillow-he didn't care he got in trouble the night before.  She said "Oh, I felt a wet spot under my pillow last night and wondered what that was."  Every time I remember this I start laughing all over again and it brings so many more memories of goofy things he used to say and do :)  He was like the brother I always wanted-fun loving and goofy!  Love Gregory so much!
