Dear Uncle Niyi as we used to call you,
I'd wished we met again. The last time I met you was when you were in Ilutitun in the early 80s (between 1982 and 1983) when the heat from the 1983 election was on. I remember you touching the UPN logo on the Volkswagen bus. I also remember missing my way coming from Ota to Lagos one day only to have Google nav route me through Niyi Ogunbameru street. Will be missing you Uncle. Sleep on

Words are often hard in moments like this, but we must find them to express our deepest condolences and pay our respects. Group Captain Ogunbameru was a man with a big heart. He was genuinely interested in the development of people, friends and family. He was kind, relatable and respectful. He opened his home to all and was a father to all his children and children’s friends. I know he will be sorely missed. May his family continue to thrive even in his absence.

Dear Uncle,
To say that I was shocked to learn of your passing would be an understatement. Nevertheless, we would not mourn like those who have no hope. I am glad you knew Jesus and shared broadly about Him. Today, I remembered how you would always speak a blessing whenever I spoke with you via phone. How you sounded alot like Bishop Oyedepo. Evidence of how much of the word you've taken in.
I remember you attending my graduation fron Unilag, and every of our joyous events and celebration, you never missed anyone of it. My children's naming ceremony, and when things were tough for me, you were there. I could go on and on.
The land I bought in 2010, you took me to the Oba of Itekun(A former airforce officer), we rode there by boat and it never seized to amaze me how you rolled up your trousers and entered the boat with me just for that.
You were a great man, the pride of the entire family, yet humble and charismatic.
Thank you for everything you did. May God rest your soul Uncle Niyi. Amen

My Daddy, Boss and Mentor, Sir it is difficult to say goodbye in a situation like this, but what can one say than to give Thanks to God for the time you lived with us. I was opportuned to come under the influence of your radiant aura some few days after i was posted as your Orderly and Body Guard in Feb 1997. In less than six months you changed my psyche and positively guided me to follow the right path, a path that impacted positively in my chosen career in the NAF. Like a Prophet, your Prophecies some 26 years ago has all come to pass. I will greatly miss your early morning Sunday Inspirational massages and words of encouragement. Sir rest on among the Stars in the galaxy and ultimately in the Bossom of the Lord Almighty.

Words fail me.  Daddy i will miss so much and i cant believe that I won't see you again sitting on your favorite chair each time i come visiting. I will hold on to the fun memories that we shared. The children miss you already and are so sad that you are gone. I pray that the Lord has mercy on your soul and that you rest in the bossom of the Lord. You might have left us but I know that Heaven has gained an angel. Adieu daddy. I love you,and you are forever in my heart
