For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command , with the voice of an arc angel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, so that we will always be with the Lord.
It's apparent now that it was your quiet patience your unspoken tolerance your reassuring presence that held our family together. Your example inspires those remaining.
Miss you so much daddy.. Just watched the videos of your 50th wedding anniversary.. Loved hearing your laugh again , and seeing your face... Saw old Ted too.. you guys were dancing...
I first met Grover in 1971 when a bunch of us, [the old gang from Kirby St & then Apex], went up to the DC area to visit Larry's & Becky's parents & their friends there. I liked him from the moment I met him - friendly, funny, easy- going, kind, and then later after they moved out to Cortez, CO, I found out he had a wonderful talent for woodworking, & other stuff ..... I sort of "adopted him as my other dad" - that's how much I thought of him ..... we all had such great times there in Cortez - he loved music, dancing, & just having a good time wherever we were - we had such great parties there ..... he was quietly smart - unassuming, & had a great sense of humor ..... I too will always miss him.
My first response when I think of you daddy is to wish I had been a better daughter for you... You were the forgiving one, no matter what... Hope we get to see each other again...
Dad, i was always in awe of your confidence and ability to build or repair anything you chose. A craftsman. Perhaps your father's legacy. Only later in life did i come to recognize and appreciate your selfless loving nature. Perhaps a gift from your mother. You were the most gentle, patient, and tolerant man i have ever known.
