Wendy attended West Point Elementary School and West Point High School. During her early teen she moved to Atlanta, GA with her paternal uncle and aunt, Marvin and Jessie Cooper Lucear. She graduated from Gordon High School in Dekalb County, GA. After high school she attended Fort Valley State College and Gamblin State College. Wendy was a standout basketball and softball player. Her most rewarding job ever was caring for her Aunt Marlene in her Atlanta base home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin Cooper, paternal grandmother, Mellon Griggs Cooper; maternal grandmother, Ellen Ogletree and maternal aunt, Jesse Cooper Lucear.

Wendy leave to cherish her memories her loving mother, Peggy Ann Ogletree, , Hempstead, NY, a devoted paternal aunt, Marlene(Jim)Cooper Stiggers, Atlanta, GA; a devoted paternal uncle, Marvin Lucear, Atlanta, GA; maternal uncles, Tommy Ogletree, Jamacia , NY, Willie Oglegree, Hempstead, NY, Clarence Ogletree, West Point, GA and a host of cousins and friends.
