Tributes
Leave a tributeI remember him bringing his VW microbus down to Palisades on the nights of local college games, so that any player could catch a ride to the game
and being a contributing member of the larger team. These were all lessons that I brought forward into my life - I will be forever grateful to Coach Ware for teaching me these core values and principles.
I send my heartfelt prayers to all the Ware family at the passing of Coach Ware.

You wiry wizard, self-invented genius, believer in the amazing upside potential of every next generation, you’ve danced off stage left. I admired your ideas, your moral core, your curiosity, your family, your aspirations. You were so like your kumquats - a beautiful work of nature that when bitten are surprising, intriguing, sharp on the palate and sweet.
as always, gsl
Almost too good to be real
Sort of like you, Bud
Coach Ware was a born teacher. Whether it was Math class or on the court, basketball ,golf swinging, ski turns or later in life with my two kids learning their strokes in Topanga, Bud was the consumate instructor. Patient and creative with "films" to prove it.He will be missed.

The coaches at camp had my little one change his backhand to a two handed stroke, just like Bolettieri did when Bud took me to his camp for a day in SoCal. Bud, no worries, We will be changing that back to a one handed stroke in due time, and we will be doing serve and volley also. I know you are watching

Forever missed and never forgotten. Miss you Bud and Joannie.❤️ The Crawfords

I played CEE and BEE basketball for Bud Ware right around 1970, practicing outside in the afternoons. He at times would stop practice, and make us appreciate the sunset sky. I kept in touch with Bud and Joan through the years even up until last year, when he took me downtown to Phillipe’s restaurant, and on to the Norton Simon museum. He always brought joy into my life. I was heartbroken to not find him at his home in Topanga, and then learned of his passing. He will be forever in my heart. I send condolences to the Ware family.
