Harold Eugene Taylor, Jr. was born on October 3, 1953 in Pittsburgh, PA, the sone of Harold Taylor, Sr. and Barbara Lois Taylor.

Harold was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School system, and graduated from Fifth Avenue High School in 1971.  He later attended General Motors Institute in Flint, MI from 1971 to 1972.

In 1969, Harold met Deborah Lynn Ward, and they were united in marriage on June 24, 1973.  To this union were born four children:  Micah Leron, Leah Danielle, Rebekah Diane (Peter Jenkins) and Joshuah Caleb.

Harold was baptized into the Church of God and Saints of Christ in 1971, by the late Bishop Francis W. Daniels and became an active member of the choir.  He was ordained as a Deacon at the 1974 Feast of the Lord's Passover in Detroit, MI.  During his 17 years as a Deacon, Harold served as secretary of the National Deacons' Board.  He was appointed to the Rabbinical Staff by Rabbi Evg. Herbert Lewis in 1984.  He was an ardent supporter of the Grand Trustees Committee, Director of the Senior Citizen's Committee and the Distributor of Unleavened Bread during the Passover Memorial and always willing to do whatsoever his hands found to do on Beulah Land in Galestown, MD.

At the 1991 Annual General Assembly in Cleveland, OH, Harold was ordained to the gospel ministry.  He was later appointed Assistant Pastor of the Wheeling, WV tabernacle by his pastor and father-in-law, the late Evg.-at-Lg. R. Condred Ward.  Following the passing of his mentor, Elder Taylor was named Pastor of the Wheeling, WV tabernacle by the late CEO, Bishop James R. Grant in 1996, where he presided until 2008.  He then served a an assoicate minister of the Pittsburgh tabernacle until his demise.

Harold was know by several different names: "Butchie" by his family, "George" by his wife; "Goldwater" by his childhood friends; and to his co-workes "Harry".  He began his career as a field service engineer with Westinghouse Electric in 1974, and worked in the engineering field for 38 years, the last 15 of those years with Eaton Corporation.

Harold was taken suddenly from this life on January 22, 2013.  He leaves behind to mourn his loss; his wife, Deborah, four children; Micah, Leah, Rebekah (Peter Jenkins) and Joshuah; three adopted children; three grandchildren, Lauren Elaine Jenkins, Ayden James Taylor and Reuben Douglas Jenkins; his sister Evg. Patricia Park (Elder Raymond, Jr.); his brother Ronald Taylor (Cynthia); his grandmother, Henrietta Jackson; four sisters in laws; one brother in law; two aunts; one uncle; 30 nieces and nephews; -- godchildren, cousins, additional family, well-wishers and friends.
