His Life

Harold Lehrer was born on May 15, 1925 in Bronx, New York.   He served in the 11th Airborne in World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, and a Silver Star.  He began his career working for American Automobile Association (AAA) in 1950 in New York.  In 1969, he moved to Paradise Valley, Arizona where he joined AAA Arizona as Executive Vice President.  Three years later, he became president until he retired in 1993. 

Hal is survived by his first wife, Sylvia (Glatter), and their daughters, Linda Lehrer and Michelle Manchester.  In 1966, Hal married Deidre (Voelker), and is survived by her, and their sons, Jim and wife Yumiko; and Steve and wife Michelle. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

In 2005, Hal and Dee moved from their Paradise Valley home of 36 years to Leisure World, in Mesa, Arizona. Hal loved westerns and science fiction movies. His other passions included traveling, golf, exercise, fitness, drawing, and table tennis. Hal was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
