My Husband, Charles, and I always enjoyed our time spent with Harold.
He was so positive and full of energy and had such a zest for life! We enjoyed seeing him in Sun Valley over the years and even met up with him and his Daughter, Marta, in Hawaii once.
I know Harold is deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was a great man. Our condolences to the family.

I was so sorry to see that Harold had passed. We met at the very early stages of creating the Valley Club and I can honestly say that every time I saw him and spoke to him from that day forward, he brightened my day.

As a fellow Founder and business partner, Harold was as good as it gets. He was honorable, trustworthy, intuitive, and always fair. As a friend, the same applied.

After navigating through the complex transaction that eventually founded The Valley Club, I always trusted Harold's council when we shared other information about other deals that we were separately involved in. He was a true entrepreneur that I admired for his creativity and impeccable integrity.

I will miss Harold Tollerup and the world was a better place for having had him here.

Kris and family.
So sorry to hear of your great Dad, Harold, passing. You know how much I enjoyed knowing him, and your dear Mom, Barbara. My last memory of him is a dance we shared at the Jazz Festival, in Sun Valley. I know he will be missed by all that knew him. The great old timers are so special. My deepest condolences to all of you.
With great fondness,
Karen

It is a sad thing to write about my father because he has passed away. I left home (CA) before I turned 20 so we had an over the phone relationship for a long time. The last 25 years we pretty much spoke weekly, sometimes more because I just needed to chit chat with my dad! I miss these calls so much; I miss his voice… I love you Dad.

He loved getting together with his friends to visit, golf, play tennis, and ski (water and snow). He enjoyed hosting parties/ bar-b-ques and they were always lots of fun. He loved taking off with my mom and traveling to Europe, Hawaii or closer to home like Sun Valley, ID. My dad taught me to water and snow ski, oh what fun memories!

He had a big heart and loved to meet new people. He wanted to always see the good in people, honored the handshake and trusted others to a point of recklessness. I cherish the friendship we developed over the years and as I got to know him better, beyond being my father, I realized what a mixture, of personality traits, I am of dad and mom. It makes me laugh.

I made a promise to myself that when I have a fleeting thought ‘oh I need to call dad…’ I won’t be sad but be thankful for the wonderful and loving relationship we had.

Miss you.

I love and miss you Dad. I miss your laugh, you bullheaded optimism, your big heart. One of the best things I ever learned from you is to never let your age define you as old. You snow skied and golfed and climbed mountains well into your 80s. This will always be an inspiration to me.

You were ever the entrepreneur from the time you were just a kid to the last days of this life you were thinking about and doing business. You could come up with 15 different ways to structure a deal and you always always tried to be fair to everyone involved.

You have inspired me to go out and live my life big and that is exactly what I am doing. Thank you forever Dad. Love Marta
