Happy Birthday, Harry!
Meet your latest grand-nephew, Will, born Feb 19, 2016.

I just remember Mr. Schumacher all through school with Jessica as always ready to have fun and laugh with us. His love for his family, especially Jess, showed in everything he did. One memory that brings a smile to my face was when he told us that he was trying out for American Gladiators. We thought he was so cool. He will be greatly missed.

I had the distinct pleasure of being a godparent of Michelle Henry with Harry. Also, had a few, no many, laughs with him and Lorraine. Beach in Sea Isle was the best. Great sense of adventure, humor and love for his family. You're a great man Harry Shoes..... Pete and Pat Virgili

I only got to see Harry about once a year since I lived in Ohio since 1977. In more recent years, we had great outings at some Philly restaurants where we ate and talked for a couple of hours and shared many a story. Past history (football, family and Greenhill theater) came to light with many a laugh and surprises. I enjoyed the bantering between Harry and Steve and would chime in myself when I could.

We will greatly miss this fun-loving, generous man with his whimsical sense of humor.

He would ride that ride
He would smell the roses
He would start a game of touch football and expect you to run real plays
He would push you to do your best
He would cheer you on
He would devise fun games with crazy rules and play them with you
He would order that big sundae
He would dig the big hole on the beach
He would come to your game, your play, your meet, your ceremony and burst with pride
He would find joy in little things
He would enjoy the unwrapping as much as the gift
He would invent contraptions
He would talk back to the tv
He would make time for family and friends
He would want us to live the same way.

My memories of Harry are of great times at the Army-Navy games. Sitting on the Army side and cheering for the Navy. He had a huge heart and made sure we enjoyed our day and understood the passion surrounding this day. The reverence he showed at these games, I was able to see in the rest of his life.

Harry was the kindest, sweetest man I have ever met. I originally met him through my husband who worked at GSA with him. Harry's wit and humor was something to be enjoyed. I never knew what he would say but it would always make me laugh! He will be missed by many!
