My Dad fell in love with Milo when he met him so we thought it would be a good idea to get him a dog as well.  Dogs are such loving creatures, and are so therapeutic.

My Dad loved to cook.  Food was definitely one of his passions.  When he would visit me he would cook, as he loved to and we would eat together on the kitchen island (because I didn't have any other furniture).

I am terrible with remembering to take photos, and am very regretful for it.  But here is one of my Dad in the reflection of the oven, eating dinner in our Nevada house.  I will be changing that about myself.  As I reflect back on the last 20 years, I don't have enough photographs of my loved ones.

Around the end of 2011 I bought an investment property in Nevada, the suburbs 10 miles south of Las Vegas.  My Dad loved coming down for visits and enjoying the Nevada sun.  One day we went on a little adventure with the Hummer and did some off-roading.

In December 2009 I rushed to Edmonton after finding out my Dad had gone into the hospital and slipped into a coma.  My wonderful Uncle Sieg picked me up from the airport and I went to see my father.  He was intubated and I cried for him every day I went to the hospital and sat with him.

Mercifully, he recovered.  It was a long recovery, but he made it.  That started a beautiful new chapter in his life where he devoted himself to volunteering and helping others in the ICU.

I felt the worst pain in my life watching my sweet father on a ventilator, not knowing whether or not he'd ever wake up.  The pain and despair I feel now is worse.
