Spending New Year’s Eve at my Grandparents home.  They had an Open House with approximately 50 people attending.  At 12 Midnight, my Grandmother would handout party hats, horns, pots and pans.  We would go outside in front of the house with everyone.  We banged the pots and pans, blew horns and yelled “Happy New Year”.  On that street in New York, there was about 30 houses on each side of the street doing the same noise making.   It was a fun night for a boy 10 years old.
