Harry Tabenyang Okpu was born on the 11th of October 1978 in Kumba South West Region to Sir William Arong Okpu  (RIP) and Mami Susana Nso Opku. Harry Jones as he was fondly called was the 7th child  in a family of 9.

Harry Jones aka. kurrupt attended St Joseph's primary school in Kumba and followed is parents to Mamfe where continued his primary school educaiton and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC).  He then continued to Government High School (GHS) Mamfe where five years later he obtained his GCE O Level. After a year in CCAST Bambili, the attraction for his home town Mamfe was too strong and difficult to resist. He return to GHS Mamfe and obtained his GCE A Level.

In  Ocotber 1998 Harry was among the chosen few to be admitted into the University of Buea (UB) in the faculty of Life Sciences.  But after two years Harry decided that his calling was not in the field of sciences and reapplied to study Banking and Finance still in UB. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Banking and Finance and without wastinig any time he was grabbed by the ADB sponsored SOWEDA-RUMPI Project where he served his community for close to 5 years.

A star as he was, filled with ambition he quit his job and decided to pursue his education. He enrolled in the University of Douala studying for a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). He was in his final year  when he was suddenly called home on the 22nd of February 2014.
