Happy birthday bro. I miss you more and more as the time passes. I finally made my daily walk around the wall and stopped by your bench. It was finally a sunny glorious day in Van. YOU were definitely smiling down on us that day. I notice people choosing to sit at your bench over the other ones. It is because they know how special it is. Love you, my sweet brother.

When Harvey passed, he took with him a little piece of me. I'm OK with that, I know it's safe in his hands. I miss him terribly. He taught me so much. The time I shared with not only him, but Lucy, Chris, and Lynn as well will never leave my memory

Harvey was my best friend for many years and all through the time we spent at University. Harvey was with me when I learned of my son's bone disease, when I struggled with family issues & Harvey was the ONLY friend or family who was at my graduation.

I miss Harvey's intelligence and sense of humor every day. The year has been filed with thoughts along the lines of "Harvey would love this" or "This would make Harvey laugh" or (best yet) "I wish I could share this with Harvey to annoy him". He is l

This has been one year and the pain and sorrow is no less deep. My name is Calvin and I am the big brother of my beloved Harvey. The ache is more acute because he passed just before Mother's day. He will be missed. I raise a glass to your memory,

University Races

May 6, 2011

Harvey and I attended Simon Fraser University between the years 1986 and 1991. We also worked together, and with the same security company. During those years we were rarely seen apart and many would joke about us being "joined at the hip". If you saw either of us, the other was not far behind.

Before SFU outlawed the practice, we used to line up outside the front of the SFU Library at 5:45am waiting for the doors to open so we would get the first choice on those prime study rooms which were enclosed and faced the Mall. These were prime study locations and after Harvey and I started to line up before the doors opened, it did not take long until there were a dozen or more students doing the same thing. Even the security guards seemed to look forward to this mad-rush by students to get the best study room. Once the doors opened it was like a horse race. Everyone running all-out body-checking and finding the shortest route possible as we leaped up 2-3 steps at a time! I would not have been suprised if the security guards placed bets on us. Although Harvey and I were often out front, we still raced against each other to get the "prime" seat in any given room. It was a blast to start every morning this way!

Once I get around to moving all my old journals into my new journal database, I will try to update this site with some of the many stories and adventures I shared with Harvey. Miss you big time Harvey. :)

Everything I Do, I Do it for You

10 (Everything I Do) I Do It for You

In the year of 1992 I attended my first concert with Harvey - Bryan Adams. At the time we were just starting to date. And after I first listened to Bryan sing his famous song: Everything I Do, I Do it For You, it immediately held a special place in my heart. The next day after the concert, Harvey gave me a cassette tape of the song with a copy of the lyrics.

After several years had passed, and it came time to our wedding, it was still our song. It was chosen as our first wedding song and will always, in my heart, remain our song - forever.

"Everything I Do, I Do it for You" Lyrics

Look into eyes - you will see

What you mean to me
Search your heart - search your soul
And when you find me there you’ll search no more
Don’t tell me it’s not worth tryin’ for
You can’t tell me it’s not worth dyin’ for
You know it’s true
Everything I do - I do it for you
Look into my heart - you will find
There’s nothin’ there to hide
Take me as I am - take my life
I would give it all I would sacrifice
Don’t tell me it’s not worth fightin’ for
I can’t help it there’s nothin’ I want more
Ya know it’s true
Everything I do - I do it for you
There’s no love - like your love
And no other - could give more love
There’s nowhere - unless you’re there
All the time - all the way
Don’t tell me it’s not worth tryin’ for
I can’t help it there’s nothin’ I want more
I would fight for you - I’d lie for you
Walk the wire for you - Ya I’d die for you
Ya know it’s true
Everything I do - I do it for you
