Her Life

The daughter of the late Willie and Sallie Pitts, Mrs. Shavers was born in Opelika, AL on December 12, 1945. She was a 1960 graduate of Sanford High School, and was a member of Wynnton Hill Baptist Church where she served with Deaconess Ministry, Culinary Committee, BTU and the Christian Women In Action.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Winston Shavers, a daughter, Tanya R. Richardson, a grandchild, Keith Q. Clark and two siblings, Willie and Walter Pitts.

Survivors include: her daughters, Annie M. Richardson and Monica D. Clark; three grandchildren, Ayanna Burgess (Brandon), LaTanya Hubbard (Dominique) and Monray E. Hendricks; four great grandchildren, Elijah Richardson, Asya Burgess, Kyla and Sian Hubbard; a brother, Wardell Pitts; four sisters, Catherine Burgess (Brandon),Virginia Whatley, Geneva Fortson (Michael) and Sheila Becks (Gerald); special god-children, Greg and Stephanie Harris; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving in-laws and friends.
