Heather michele o'rourke was born on December 27th 1975 in San Diego,California. She had one older sister,tammy o'rourke. Heather was eating lunch at mgm studios with her mom and sister when director,Steven  Spielberg approached their table. Heather went in for an interview. She got the part as carol anne freeling in poltergeist. Her work on poltergeist got her a guest part on happy days and webster. In 1985 production for poltergeist 2 began. In January 1987 Heather had been sick,doctors at krasier hospital diagonsed her with giardia when she didn't approved they did more test and discovered she had some type of inflammation in her intestines. They called this chron's disease. In April 1987 Heather and her mom traveled to Chicago,Illinois to film poltergeist 3. Heather was fine for 6 months. On January 31st 1988 Heather suddenly got sick again and the next day died after suffering septic shock from an intestinal blockage which also triggered cardiac arrest. On February 1st 1988 just a month after her 12th birthday. Her family learned that she never had chrons disease and the intestinal blockage couldve been cured with a simple operation. Poltergeist 3 was released to theaters four months after her death on June 10th 1988 and was dedicated to her memory.
