Helen E. Wright, aged 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family April 23rd, 2022. Daughter of Clarence and Irma Olt of Dayton, Ohio. She attended Roosevelt High School in Dayton, Ohio and went on to marry Herbert L. Wright in 1950. A cherished, loving, supportive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took delight in chaperoning many field trips and attending many sporting events for children and grand-children over the years.
She loved spending time with her mother and sisters. Helen had a smile that will always be remembered. She became fiercely independent after the passing of her beloved husband Herbie and continued to live on her own for another 36 years.
While she enjoyed her daily morning routine of coffee and donuts, she mostly loved the modern convenience of microwave cooking. However, her recipe for macaroni salad is legendary.
Our memories of you will always be cherished.
Helen is survived by her caring children, Dennis L. Wright, Donald L. Wright, Debora K. Wright, and Donna (Craig) J. Schulz; her grandchildren, Erin (Brian) Smith, Mitchell (Christine) Malott, Kyle (Jessica) Wright, and Corey Schulz; her great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Emily, Barrett, Ellenore, and Colton; her sisters, Barbara (John) Reid and Nancy (Robert) Johnson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Herbert L. Wright and her parents, Irma Spalding and Clarence Olt.
We will remember you for more than your macaroni salad.
All are welcome to attend a graveside service held on Sunday May 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Bearcreek-Hillgrove Cemetery 172 N. Union Rd. Dayton Ohio.
The service will be followed by a memorial celebration at 306 Lutz Dr., Union Ohio from1:00-4:00p.m. Please join us!
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Helen’s name to ProMedica Hospice of Dayton at  promedicahospice.org/dayton or phone 937-299-6980.

Missing the golden days when you, Herb and Mom and Dad used to hang out on the weekends. Hopefully now you’re celebrating with them all and playing cards to celebrate your birthday . Much love Helen! You were a wonderful second Mom. ❤️

You were one of the kindest women I knew growing up and also the fiercest. If anyone got out of hand you’d let them know. You put up with a lot in your life on earth but now you’re at peace. Say Hi to Mom and Dad for me and know you’re missed by your loved ones.

I was sad to hear the news of Helen’s passing. After looking at all the photos her family posted it is evident she was very blessed and had so many touched by her 90 years on this earth. Some of my best childhood memories are from the time spent “growing up “ with the Wright Family.

Ms. Helen was always ready with a smile and a kind word. She was a sweet neighbor and always checked in on my mother and father to see if they were well. I enjoyed bringing donuts and home cooked food because she was so gracious. My little dogs loved her because they knew she was gentle. Helen will be missed by her family, friends and neighbors.

My sincere condolences for all of the family.  Helen and Herb were such wonderful friends and neighbors to our parents through the years .  Growing up with everyone was special and Helen was always smiling.
Now they’re all together playing cards as they did almost every weekend.  Even though your hearts are heavy, just know she’s always with you in spirit and in ❤️.
Much love and prayers
