Dear caring and joyful Helen, may you sail with the music of the heavens.

Helen was so kind to me. I was a new docent at Ringling Museum a nd she invited me to join the Accessibility Group and mentored me along the way. We were all so fortunate to know her.

Helen was a fellow Docent at the Ringling Museums in Sarasota, Fl. She was a passionate lover of the arts and easily conveyed that appreciation of art to the many visitors who took her tours. Helen was very professional and a great colleague. she will be missed.

Although we met as teenagers in Broad Ripple High School, it was as middle aged (and beyond) women that we forged a deep and lasting friendship, which leaves me bereft and sad to to have to say goodbye to you, Helen. You were one of the most gifted women I ever knew. To spend time with you was always a delight because of your intelligence, compassion, playfulness, and ability to look at the bright side of life. And without your ever saying so, I know these qualities had matured with hard work and much determination. As you embrace this new adventure, as I believe you will, I will be remembering your bright beautiful smile and your hearty laugh will be ringing in my ears.  With love, I am your friend Dottie

It was my great pleasure to meet Helen through her friendship with my wife Carole.  They are second cousins, and Helen was like a big sister to Carole, way back in the late 1940's.  A job transfer sent Carole and I to Chicago in 1963. This provided Carole the opportunity to renew her relationship with Helen, as Helen and Uygur were living in Skokie, just a short distance from us.   Getting to know Helen and Uygur was a really good experience for me. We played bridge regularly and stayed in close touch. Our two children were born in Chicago, and Helen was so helpful in recommending doctors and other resources. We were able to visit Helen and Uygur during their Florida years, and recently in California. I so value their friendship and will never forget Helen's infectious laugh.

Helen was a dear aunt to me. She and I shared a love of art and I still have in my house a poster from the first major art exhibit I went to, Georgia O'Keeffe at the Art Institute of Chicago. Helen and Uygur took me to it in 1988 and it had a lasting impression on me. I always enjoyed talking art with Helen and going to the Ringling house in Florida with her. She was full of life and visiting her and Uygur in Florida was always such a treat. I will miss her smiling face, energy and getting a birthday card for her. She never missed one in all of these years! Rest in peace Aunt Helen. Love, your niece Lale
