Let the memory of loving and beloved Helen "Lily" be with us forever
  • 77 years old
  • Born on June 23, 1933 in Athens, Greece.
  • Passed away on January 1, 2011 in Carlsbad, California, United States.
Lily darling, when your beloved family and friends touch your lovely works of embroidery that you so generously gave as presents or read your evocative cards that you never forgot to send your relatives and friends, we feel that you are watching over us in spirit. We grieve not, nor despair, because we shall meet again on a divine plane as Jesus assured us: ‘I said, "You are gods"’ (John 10:34).

You were such a pleasant, happy neighbor. The ten years I have lived at Sea Point there was never a time when I saw you that you didn't have a beautiful smile and hello. It was such a joy to have known you. You will be missed. May Dimitri and your children feel blessed that they had such a wonderful wife and mother.  Sincerely in the Peace of Christ,
Al Giglitto

My mom would really laugh at this, (well, she wouldn't see it since she wasn't into surfing the web), she wouldn't believe that all these people felt this way about her. There is not enough space for me to write what an amazing mother she was. I know I will never stop missing her, but I hope in time that I can have a tiny bit of whatever made her so special. Love you so much-your favorite child

Sweet Lilly, I see you in my mind Jazzercising in your special spot. Oh what fun you had. I miss your sweet smile. How you would cup my face in your hands and truely listen to me. It was as when I spoke to you, I was the only person in the room. It amazed me how you could light an entire room with your smile when you shared the pictures of your beautiful grandchildren. Love Lori

I was an election worker with Helen for several years. I'll miss her beautiful smile and positive perspective, not to mention the delicious Greek treats she always brought. It was always amazing to see her constant energy and enthusiasm, even during the exhaustingly long days at the polls. Thanks for being a wonderful friend, neighbor, and example! -- Love, Doug Whiting
