In fond remembrance

Helen Margaret Wegener (Denny) passed away at age 95, on November 18, 2013. Helen was born June 8, 1918, in Mendon, Missouri, to Thomas Lewis Denny & Verne Mayo Denny. She is preceded in death by 1st husband of 32 years, Frank Corliss Wegener (who died as a result of the VA hospital collapse during the San Fernando Valley earthquake, Feb. 1971) Her 2nd husband of 3 years, Herman Albert Parsons, died March 14, 2008.  Brother Robert Mayo Denny & sisters Doris A. Beal and Rosemary D. McCord also preceded Helen in death.

After a full life, residing for many years in Southern California, then Oregon, she moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 2009, to be near her nephew Robert and sister-in-law, Leone.

Helen was accepted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society while attending the University of Texas in 1957.  She received her Doctorate in Philosphy (PhD) from USC (University of Southern California) in 1974.

Helen's knowledge of family history, dating well before the American Revolution, meant many conversations at family occasions. Her beautiful hand-sewn and beaded Christmas stockings are lasting memory of Helen's love for several generations of family members and friends.
