ForeverMissed

Helen Marion Quarg was born in New York City to the late John and Helen Schmitt.  She lived most of her life in Long Branch, NJ as a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.  A passionate sports fan, she was always eager to talk extensively about Yankees Baseball and Islanders Hockey.  She stayed active through long walks especially on the Jersey Shore boardwalks.  Helen spent every day of her life doing for others; she was a very generous woman who never thought of herself first and had a tremendous impact on those who knew her.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 30 years, John J. Quarg; son John E. Quarg; brother Francis Schmitt; and sister Marion Schmitt.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister Joan Payne; 2 grandchildren, Reagan A. Quarg, and Michael P. Quarg; and 4 great-grandchildren, Bailey, George, Logan and Marion.

Your generosity and strength have helped carry me through all of my years. I am certain that they will continue to inspire me during all that remain.

You brightened up my every day and filled my heart in every way,
You loved your grandchildren more than silver and gold
And always spoke of stories and days of old.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest, our hearts are broken to prove to us that heaven only takes the best.
My grandma knew best, her apartment always had coffee on as an adult and snacks when I was a kid. I get my curly hair and stubbornness from this Irish side of the family. A best friend and travel buddy. She had the best catch phrases. She made Thanksgiving stuffing that was always looked forward. Some of my other fondest memories and things she did for me was to send me letters in college that were full of newspaper and tabloid gossip clippings, (I mean she read about 6 papers a day!) each had a Roman Numeral and a summary of the story and her opinions after. We survived New Jersey longer than most others. I got to keep working with the animals that I loved and enjoying my HOME knowing your love and support was always there and it will always mean the world to me. Just you and me taking on the world with walks on the boardwalk or Franklin Lake, movie nights, hockey/baseball games, trips on the train to the city or elsewhere, Richard's Deli lunches and either a diner or Olive Garden dinners always saving room for dessert :-)
Rest peacefully now and give Dad a hug from everyone when you see him...life is not going to be easy now that your gone, it truly feels like I have lost Dad all over again. I hope you could hear me talking to you the night you passed away...there was and still is so much I wanted to say and to be there by your side...I'll just have to live with that and hope your forgiveness comes in time with "healing"...I am glad that Mike could do what I couldn't and kept you in a comfortable place where whether you knew it or not because of the Alzheimer's that was taking hold that you were indeed surrounded by love and family. What a blessing it is too that you got to see and meet your Great-Grandkids as well before passing. Something not many grandparents get to do.
