my grannie had a very hard life .in1914 she was born to a unwed mother in a poorhouse in scotland.in1916 her dad mother took her to live with her,so her gran raised her.the family spoilt grannie,she was showered with love of them .sadly at the beginning of aug1933 her dad died.then the end of aug her step-mother got hit with a car and died.in christmas day 1933 her gran was buried.all alone she moved to inverness and got work in hotels living in.in 1937 her first child a boy died just after birth.she went on to have 3 daughters my mother the oldest.her mother raised the middle daughter as her own.the youngest lived with her aunt until she was 6 then grannie had a more stable home.my mother always lived with grannie.grannie worked all her life even when she was ill.when she was 6 a car knocked her down and left her leg dent in.my mother died before grannie,grannie died of lung cancer she never told anybody she had it.sadly missed.
