Helen Theokary, 63, of Philadelphia, passed away December 16, 2020.
Helen is survived by sister Andonetta Theokary  Also, survived by nieces Sophia and Athena Morales, Jennifer, Vanessa, Christina Theokary, nephews Andrew Morales and Anthony Theokary
She was predeceased by her father Athanas and mother Sofia and all four brothers Raphael, Nikolas, Milaq, and Vani Theokary
Helen was the first born and smiled often as a child.  She grew up in a family with four brothers and one sister. She faced many challenges for attention and affection growing up in a big family. Helen and her siblings were all first generation Americans.
Helen graduated at South Philadelphia High School and later enrolled in a trade college to be a Geriatric Nurse Assistant. She was very successful in her early endeavors and had joy in her life knowing that she could be of service to others.
During her later years she became the caretaker of her late brother Milaq "Michael" and took on a heavy task. She faced so many of her loved ones passing and even 50 days ago before her passing she honored her late brother Raphael at our family church St. John Chrysostom Albanian Orthodox Church where she was a member and attended every Sunday until she was not able to continue her attendance due to the pandemic.
She had many challenges in her life but the one thing she held on to was her gift of caretaking and she did it with what ever tools were available to her. She loved her parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews more then any one will ever know. May Her Memory Be Eternal
Family and Friends are invited to Helen's viewing on Wednesday December 23, 2020 at Fertig Funeral Home, 63 N. Main St. Mullica Hill, New Jersey 08062. Today on your one year Memorial Day of your passing, I miraculously received an old text from you that was dated 12-3-20 and it says to call you. I've been emotional all day and realized that you left this sign for me to tell me you are okay. Please watch over my kids and grandkids from above. Hugs and kisses dear sister.

Aunt Helen, I will always miss our long talks on the phone. You always made me laugh and was always proud of all the things I accomplished. You loved to hear about the family in California and enjoyed all the stories about the babies, Sophie and Natalie.

I remember walking the streets of Philly with you, having a bite to eat, and chatting. I will never forget how special you made my 30th birthday. You and Uncle Michael got me a cake, took me to the movies, and spent the whole day with me. We were really good buddies and always got along so well.

You were so tough and I always admired that about you. Your fortitude, faith, and strength were qualities that represented not only the Theokary family, but your true self, as well.

I know you are free now. And though I truly wish we could have had one more long conversation, I am grateful that we spoke on your birthday and enjoyed a few more laughs together. Man, were you funny!! You had the greatest points of views on things and had so many stories about your life. You were well-traveled and so wise.

I am going to miss you for as long as I live and love you with all my heart. I promise not to cry anymore, because crying depicts loss. However, you are not lost, Aunt Helen. You are home now, where you can travel the cosmos with joy and love.

I love you sister and I did what ever I could to carry the load but the weight was so heavy and I feel so bad but I tried to support you to the best of my ability but that was not enough because GOD had a plan for you to pass over when all your brothers were cared for. You will be missed you silly Helen and all your stories. I told you I would come through and when I go to my savior up above please be there with our siblings and parents to greet me because I don't know how long we all have, only GOD knows. Rest in Peace with Mommy, Daddy, Raphie, Nicky, Michael, and Johnny. Love you, SISTER!!!

Aunt Helen, I remember when you visited us in Long Beach and we went to shoreline village together. I also remember you making me a bagel with cream cheese and jam. I didn't want to eat it, but you made me. Haha. I didn't know you well, but I do remember you and always will.
