Mrs. Helen E. Timmons (Hamilton), 85, of Lanett died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at her home in West Point, Georgia.

 

Born Dec. 13, 1927 in West Point, GA, Mrs. Timmons was the daughter of the late John G. and Sarah Hamilton.  She was the head cheerleader at Lanett High School and worked at Kessler’s candy counter.  She later worked at the Lanett Mill where she met the love of her life, Robert A. Timmons, Jr.  Robert was called back into the Air Force during the Korean War, staying in the Air Force, retiring after thirty years moving back to West Point in 1972.  Robert passed in 1985.  Mrs. Timmons was known for her love of the outdoor critters and spent many hours taking care of her flowers and plants, and baking. She always made sure the various men and women of the city services, post office, and newspaper carriers received a homemade cake of choice for Christmas.

 

Mrs. Timmons’s is survived by her sons, Charles Michael Timmons and wife Starr of Canton, GA and Stephen B. Timmons and wife Vickie of West Point GA.; two sisters Shirley Sprayberry of Lanett, AL; and Connell Burke of Augusta, GA; one brother Ralph Hamilton of Tucker, GA.; four grandchildren, 2 great grand children, 1 great grandchild coming soon, numerous nephews and nieces.
