The daughter of the late Mary L. Bowman Wells and Thomas Wells, Mrs. Murray was born in Midland, GA. She was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School. A home-maker, she attended Faith Tabernacle Community Church. 

Survivors include: her husband, Mr. Roy Murray; a son, Raphael Foster (Sophie); three daughters, Telissa Jarreau, Kimberly Monroe and Akear Newborn; five grandchildren; three brothers, Michael Monroe, Robert Holcomb Wells and Ronnie Wells; three sisters, Gail Bryant (William), Carol Moore-Charleston(Gerald) and Diannette Davis; two aunts, Helen Thomas and Emma Benning; other loving family member and friends.
