Mr. Henry Ford Allen, age 90, prominent Heard County citizen passed away at his home on Sunday, October 27, 2013,
Funeral services for Mr. Allen were conducted on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at 11:00 A.M.EST, from the Bethel Christian Church with the Reverends Theo Arnette and Kenneth Johnson officiating. Music was provided by Sandra Allen and Debbie Pike. Those serving as pallbearers were Josh Hannah, Shane Hannah, Chris Keel, Michael Cadwell, Jake Starnes, and John Seymour. Military Honors were performed following the service.
The interment followed in the church cemetery.

What a blessing Mr Henry lived in our settlement! I always liked him even though I didn't know him well. My husband remembered him only meeting him once. We will always remember him fondly.

My dad was one of those rare people who hardly ever met a stranger. He had that quality of making everyone feel like a life-long friend. He was the best role model for his children and grandchildren in all areas of his life, but especially in his Christian faith and in his love of Bethel Christian Church, where he will continue to guide by the many examples he set. Daddy, I love you!

Henry Allen was everyone's "Pop." He was the only grandfather figure I ever had, and it was such a pleasure to be his friend. I loved him dearly and my husband and children did also. We were real "buddies" (he knows what I mean) and I'll always treasure the times we spent together, in good times and in sad times. He will be so missed. 'Til we meet again, Henry Allen, RIP. We love you!

Your dad was one of the finest men I have ever known. When I was new to this county, he made me feel at home with his winning smile and personality. It was like I had always known him. He was a model of what a true Christian should be. I have admired you and your family's dedication to him throughout all of his years. I have admired for many years how you took such good care of your daddy. I could see the love, devotion, and respect you had for him. I am blessed to have witnessed such a picture of Christ that you showed for all of us to learn from and hopefully model one day. You will meet again. Praise the Lord for the hope we have in Christ.
