To make a long story short......23 years ago I started my job here as a fueler. The guy who showed me the way around the place was about 20 or so years or so older then me I used to call him “old man” . He trained me and I gotta admit I didn’t always listen to every piece of advice he’d give me about how to do the job, I use to say why you do it this way and he’d explain why and at times I’d walk away shaking my head. We worked side by side for 10 years before I moved into the garage. He use to drive me nuts with his maps of where he dreamed of sailing,at times taking up to 30 minutes to explain the water ways and the routes he took and so on. And believe it or not the old man was even a pilot and had his own plane that he tried to get me up in, no way old man ain’t happening! There were days we argued like brothers but it never lasted into the next day. One day the old man fell asleep on his break smoking his pipe in his truck and to wake him up I lifted the rear of his truck with the fork lift, he didn’t budge just looked in the mirror and shook his head. Every time he told me a story he’d start and 15 minutes later he’d say “to make a long story short” and I’d always say “were already past that point” so long old man I’m going to miss you
