On Saturday, January 11, 2020 the Lord took from our midst our beloved Henry James Rogers. He was the third of nine children born, October 15, 1944, to the late Everlener and the late Jamie Rogers. His education was received in the Jefferson County School System, graduating in 1962 from Wenonah High School. Although our hearts are deeply saddened by his death, we have fond memories of Henry as a son, big brother, father, uncle and friend.

Upon graduation, Henry enlisted in the U. S. Army and served his country with honor. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the U. S. Army, Henry enrolled in and completed training  in drafting at the Raymond J Horn School of Drafting in Birmingham, Alabama. Henry continued his studies by attending Lawson State Community College. After attending Lawson, he went to work at Central Paper Company until he secured a position at US Steel. He worked at US Steel until he retired. Henry met and married Atline George. To their union two children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Atline Rogers; a devoted daughter ,  Everlener R. Rogers, a supportive son, Willie A. Rogers, two stepdaughters, Ronda Phillips and Ginger Cooper all of Birmingham, AL;  two sisters, Shirley Rogers-Crowell and Shelia Rogers-Patterson both of Birmingham, AL; three brothers, Eugene (Pearl) Rogers of Tuscaloosa, AL, Reginald Rogers of Stone Mountain, Ga, and Harold Rogers of Birmingham, AL; a granddaughter, Harper E. Bloxom; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
