Sonny walked away from this life on earth with our Lord and Savior entering through the Gates of Heaven in the early morning of December 26, 2012, after not being able to walk here on earth for the past 17 years. He was 71 years of age.
Visitation for Mr. McCarthy will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012, from 5:00 PM EST until 7:00 PM EST at McCarthy Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM EST from Gray Hill Church of God, located at the intersection of Bartley and Tommie Roads.
The Reverend David Cross will officiate assisted with eulogies by his brother Larry McCarthy and brother-in-law Tim Duffey.
Interment will be in Langdale Cemetery.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff and nurses of Lanier Nursing Home, Dr. Joseph Downs and the staff and volunteers of Chattahoochee Hospice.
