OBITUARY

October 29, 2015
Herbert Doyle, III was the second child born to the late Herbert Doyle, Jr. and Elva Heatherine Doyle (Thomas).  He was born on April 8, 1949 in Plainfield, NJ.  He departed this life on Saturday, October 3, 2015.

As a young man Herbert attended the Rahway School System.  He graduated with honors in 1967.  During his Senior Year, Herbert worked at the Clark Animal Hospital in Clark, NJ.  Shortly after Herbert enlisted in the US Army serving in the Vietnam War.  After his years in the miltiary, Herbert worked at Merck Pharmaceutical in Rahway, NJ.  He started as a painter.  While at Merck, Herbert attended Union County Vo-Tech after which he advanced to becoming a chemical research engineer.  Herbert retired in 2006.

In 1980 Herbert married Sharon Thomas of Rahway NJ.  He was a respectful and devoted husband.  From this union two children were born; Saleem Q. Doyle and Jameelah Q. Doyle.

Herbert was known to many as "Saleem".  We cannot forget his radio handle, "Dr. Gipper" and "Peter Rabbit", his nickname from his younger days.

Herbert enjoyed bowling, riding motorcycles, and skeet shooting.  He was a member of a singing group known as "The Imperials".

Herbert was very meticulous with his attire, from head to his toes.  "Clean as a diamond studded chitterling".  Everything had to match.

Herbert was a member of Post 499.  He was a member of Legal Shield (formerly Pre-Paid Legal) where he received 5 certificates which included license associate, director and players club.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sharon Doyle (Plainfield, NJ); four children; Herbert (Sporty) Doyle IV (Elizabeth, NJ), Saleem Doyle (Plainfield, NJ), Dana 'Doyle ( Linden, NJ) and Jameelah Doyle ( Plainfield, NJ); one brother, Dane Doyle, Sr. (Plainfield, NJ); three sisters, Pamela Doyle (Somerset, NJ) Sheila Doyle (Plainfield, NJ), and Shirley Doyle (Plainfield, NJ); nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; a special mother-in-law, Gertrude Thomas (Rahway, NJ); one brother-in-law, Glen Thomas (Barbara) North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Patricia Warren (Rahway, NJ); one god-daughter, Jasmine Freeman (Plainfield, NJ); special friends, Deacon Steve Presley, Al Gordon, Eugene Handy, Jim Wilder, Cleff Hannibal, and Andy Newelol; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
