Our Family Hero passed away on October 6th 2020 after a short illness....,
Herbert Yoshinaga was born in Waipio on the island of Oahu, Hawaii on May 23, 1937. He grew up the youngest of 6 children born to Takeo and Midori Yoshinaga. Herbert attended Kipapa Elementary School and Leilehua High
School in Oahu, Hawaii, home of The Mighty Mules!
Herbert met his wife Dorothy while stationed in England shortly after joining The Air Force at the age of 23. They were married 55
years as they raised their children and enjoyed their many grand and great grandchildren, eventually settling in Arizona.
The United States Air Force is where he served proudly and honorably for 26 years. Master Sergeant Yoshinaga also served in Vietnam where he was awarded the
Meritorious Service Medal for his exemplary service.
After retiring from the Air Force he continued to work for several years at The 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group on Davis–Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona.
Herbert was a very sweet and gentle man who faced challenges in his life with grace and good humor.... he is greatly missed and loved dearly.
A service with full military honors was held at 10:00 a.m. April 27th 2021 at The Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 15950 N Luckett Rd, Marana, Arizona 85653.
