Damn we lost a legend. UNCLE JUNE (Herman Veasley Jr.)
Born in 1925 so don't ever tell me how long ago civil rights and Jim crow and segregation was when this man lived through all of that. Rest well ❤

I had the privilege of meeting and working with Herman at Ford Motor for a few years before he retired one of the nicest and hard working men I have ever meet. My condolences to his family.

With my deepest sympathy to my best friend there is nothing that can be said or done to take away the void that has been created in my heart with the decision to bring you home to your eternal resting place to be with our Lord. During the past 60 years plus, our relationship was one that was never tarnished between two buddies, if you knew Uncle June you knew one of his best friends was called Romie and that would be me. Unc you will truly be missed and may you rest in peace and one day we all will be joined together again in our everlasting life. You will always be my eternal brother and life time friend, in addition, Ves also expresses her sadness and sympathy as well. May you rest in peace Uncle June, your buddy forever, Romie.

“As a child growing up in the ‘60s, I loved the holidays (Christmas, New Year’s Day, Memoral Day, Fourth of July and/or Labor Day). Those occasions meant that all the nieces and nephews (including my siblings and I who were actually 2nd Cousins) ran and played while we enjoyed our family. Some time earlier when we were trying to say Cousin ..., Uncle Jun sat us down and convinced us that we better call them “Uncles and Aunts”. He explained that their grandmother, Mama Shipp, (who all four of them spent a lot of time with), taught them that since my mother was an only child that they must be her siblings. Years later, I understood the richness of the Family that was passed down from our Great - Grandmother.
Uncle Jun, this old world for me is a bit more lonelier without You. ❤️❤️❤️“

One of the Most Honorable Men I Know: UNCLE JUNE PASSED AWAY! A PATRIARCH OF THE FAMILY, HE IS REVERED AND WILL BE DEEPLY MISSED! Uncle June Loved Family, His 1950's Model Pontiac Bonneville and Fought Segregation When He Went Straight Through the Front Door of Whites Only at Front Door of a Restaurant. He and Uncle Ollie Were The First Black Youth In Attala County to Own a Brand New Car, Loved and Respected By All. As Stated: "Junior and Ollie Were Two Very Popular Boys."

My Dear, Sweet Uncle June, you have always been a very special person in my life, and I will truly miss you.

I remember always being happy whenever you were around, all the way back to my childhood years at your house on Grayfriars. You were always smiling and laughing, and you made me smile too. You would pop up at our back door whenever you felt like it, and you and Daddy were always coming up with some new project - something to fix, something to build, something to climb up on. You were the best, and you will always have a special place in my heart. Rest in Heaven, Uncle June.

My Dear Uncle Junior,

I have so enjoyed our laughter and good times just talking, spending time sharing goodies.

No Words! I Love You! I can look to the Stars and see you! The last time I visited you in the hospital, you said you were going to Heaven and when I wanted to talk to you, just look up and you'd be there. You said I will always know where you are! I do! I do know where you are my sweet! Among the Angels and Our Lord and Savior! Although my heart is heavy, I know you are at peace and with our Jesus! No more pain and suffering. Take Your Rest!

Until we meet again My Sweet Uncle Junior.. Take Your Rest My Sweet!

I will miss your Smile!

I Love You!

Love April,
